National Digital Week 2016

National Digital Week 2016

National Digital Week is back! Running for 3 days down in Skibbereen, County Cork, with a key focus on digital innovation, the conference is shaping up to be better than ever before. Sadly, the O'Donovan brothers are not scheduled to take the stage in their home town, but fear not, plenty more are!

It's fantastic to see the support from not only Irish digital innovators, but also so many influential global brands, all dedicated to sharing their knowledge and continuing their groundbreaking work in the digital marketplace. So far we've heard from thought leaders representing the likes of (deep breath) PayPal, Cornell University (NYC), KPMG, Irish Farmers Journal, AIB, An Post, Ericsson, ASPIRA... the list goes on. And that was just on Day One!

Friday 12 November (today!) sees the start of the Google Digital Garage sessions, lasting all day Friday and Saturday. This is going to be great for those looking for an introduction in how to 'do' digital, as well as providing a very useful catch up for those of us already working in the online world. Lots of Google-related sessions - no surprise there! - with a whole range of disciplines being presented, from the basics of getting a business online, right through to Google Analytics, paid search, display advertising, the power of social, and loads more besides.

Saturday's agenda will include a much-anticipated panel discussion on The Internet Of Things. These sessions are invariably interesting, and this should be no exception, with some big hitters taking the stage. Google also has a huge slot on Saturday, with no more than FIVE key speakers presenting their thoughts, innovations and latest news nuggets over a 4-hour period. The main Google Stage will then finish off the day's proceedings with discussions and presentations from senior representatives from companies such as IDA Ireland, Enterprise Ireland and FIPRA International.
